**About the opportunity**
Our client is a well-established general contractor delivering multi-family residential projects across British Columbia. They are looking for an experienced Wood-Frame Superintendent in Victoria to lead site operations from groundbreaking through to occupancy.
You’ll be the person on site who makes the schedule, the quality and the safety program work. You’ll direct trades, keep the project moving, and work closely with the project management team and consultants.
**What you’ll do**
- Lead day-to-day site operations on a wood-frame residential project, including planning and coordinating all trades and suppliers
- Build and manage the construction schedule, including look-aheads, sequencing and material deliveries
- Champion a safety-first site culture, run toolbox talks and inspections, and make sure WorkSafeBC and site safety requirements are met
- Review drawings, specifications and structural details, and flag conflicts or RFIs early
- Enforce quality standards through regular inspections, deficiency tracking and close-out
- Coordinate with the project manager, owner’s representatives, consultants and municipal inspectors
- Manage site logistics, including access, laydown, crane and hoisting plans, and framing sequencing
- Keep accurate daily reports, progress records and site documentation
- Lead, mentor and motivate site staff and trade partners
**What you bring**
- Proven experience as a Superintendent (or Senior Assistant Superintendent) on wood-frame or low-rise residential projects, ideally multi-phase or multi-building
- A track record of taking projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Strong knowledge of wood-frame construction methods, building envelope and BC Building Code requirements
- Confidence reading structural drawings, blueprints and construction documents
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to earn respect from crews and trades
- Solid understanding of scheduling and site safety practices
- Valid driver’s licence, and a current first aid ticket and safety certifications (e.g. BCCSA Site Safety Program, Construction Safety Training System)
- Red Seal Carpentry or a related construction education is an asset
- Existing relationships with Vancouver Island trades and suppliers are a strong asset
**What’s in it for you**
- Competitive salary
- Bonus, Benefits, RRSP matching
- Stable pipeline of projects and room to grow with the company
- A supportive team that values ownership, quality and safe work
