Surintendant de chantier

Full-time Site Superintendent opportunity with Acadian Construction in Halifax. The Superintendent leads day-to-day field execution on commercial-construction projects and is accountable for site safety, schedule, quality, trade coordination and practical problem solving. Travel across the Maritimes may be required depending on active projects.

Key responsibilities
• Direct day-to-day construction activity and coordinate subcontractors and trades on site.
• Build and maintain short-term work plans that support the overall project schedule.
• Lead site-safety expectations, identify hazards and reinforce safe work practices.
• Monitor workmanship and quality and ensure work aligns with drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate material deliveries, inspections, site access and sequencing between trades.
• Identify field issues early and work with project management to resolve schedule, design or constructability concerns.
• Maintain site documentation and communicate progress and upcoming needs to the project team.
• Support project closeout, deficiency correction and turnover activities.

Profile
Five or more years of commercial-construction site leadership is requested. A Red Seal trade qualification or relevant construction diploma is valued, and Gold Seal certification is considered an asset. Strong safety leadership, scheduling, trade coordination, communication and practical construction knowledge are essential.
