Lumpers - Container Loading/Unloading

Role overview

Foremost is recruiting container unloaders for a Mississauga warehouse. The job is physically demanding and centres on loading and unloading containers, scanning and sorting freight, building and rebuilding skids and moving product with manual pallet-handling equipment. Work can involve regular or refrigerated loads, so employees need to be comfortable with changing temperatures and repetitive heavy handling.

Schedule and work

Typical shifts are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Employees verify freight, flag damaged goods, organize pallets and help keep the dock and staging areas safe and productive.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lb repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Comfort working in hot or cold containers as assignments require.
• Required identification/work documentation and safety footwear.
• Clean criminal record, good communication and ability to work quickly and safely.
• Basic computer skills; RF-scanner experience is an asset.
• Availability for overtime when required.
