Role description
Opportunity
Unity Healthcare is actively recruiting Healthcare Aides for independent-contractor assignments in Manitoba. Unity supports facilities and communities across long-term care, home/community care, rural/remote settings and First Nations healthcare.
Assignment support
- Flexible contractor assignment model.
- WCB coverage and assistance with travel planning.
- Access to assignments through Unity’s scheduling system after onboarding.
- Paid travel time and per-diem support for qualifying assignments.
Qualifications
Requirements
Applicants must meet Unity’s onboarding and the specific training/competency requirements for each assignment. Experience with lifting equipment and Safe Client Handling is beneficial for LTC/PCH work.
Additional information
Compensation
- CAD $18-$20/hour depending on location, services, experience and qualifications.
- Overtime and statutory holidays at 1.5x.
- Per diem: $60 per 12-hour shift or $40 per 8-hour shift.
- Mileage: $0.45/km.
- Paid travel time from residence or Unity office in East Selkirk, whichever is closer to the assignment.
