Role overview

Arrow Workforce Solutions is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Construction Estimator for a full-time permanent role in Stoney Creek/Hamilton. The estimator develops detailed estimates and budgets for construction, design/build and maintenance proposals and supports projects through pre-construction and execution. The role requires ownership of material, labour and equipment costing and a strong understanding of Ontario mechanical-construction practices.

Responsibilities

The estimator reviews tender documents, drawings and specifications, performs quantity take-offs, evaluates bid opportunities and sub-trade proposals and develops project scopes, schedules and target costs. The role coordinates vendors/subcontractors, attends site and pre-bid meetings, supports Project Managers during execution, contributes to project handover/close-out and manages bid documentation. Accubid and Microsoft Project are central tools for costing, scheduling and planning.

• 10+ years of mechanical construction estimating experience.
• Construction and/or service-industry experience.
• Strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Accubid and Microsoft Project experience required.
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Construction or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong Ontario construction-practice knowledge.
• Quantity take-off, budgeting, cost analysis and bid-management capability.
• Project-management or site-supervision experience is an asset.
• Strong analytical, communication and deadline-management skills.
