Cleaner/Maintenance Clerk - Forklift Certified

Role overview

Breakaway Staffing is recruiting a Cleaner/Maintenance Clerk for a Mississauga warehouse. The position combines routine cleaning, basic building upkeep and Counterbalance forklift operation. The employee is responsible for keeping warehouse and common areas clean and safe, handling minor repairs and maintenance tasks and reporting larger repair or safety issues to management.

Responsibilities

• Clean warehouse areas, washrooms and lunchroom, including sweeping, mopping, spill cleanup and waste removal.
• Support pest-control routines and keep exterior areas free of debris.
• Perform minor repairs, painting, patching and replacement of light bulbs and filters.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment and help with basic building maintenance.
• Use Counterbalance equipment as required and report larger issues to management.

• Previous cleaning/maintenance experience.
• Valid forklift licence and Counterbalance operating experience.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and cleaning equipment.
• Ability to perform manual work and move cleaning supplies/equipment.
• High attention to detail, safety awareness and ability to work independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
