Part-time Forklift Operator

Role overview

Breakaway Staffing is seeking a part-time Counterbalance Forklift Operator for a Mississauga cross-dock facility. The role handles inbound and outbound freight, trailer loading and unloading, pallet placement, dock checks, freight documentation and coordination with shunting activity. Accuracy matters because the operator records dimensions and footage on bills of lading, prints and applies labels and reports overage, shortage or damage issues.

Responsibilities

• Offload trailers and place pallets in designated cross-dock lanes.
• Load CP/CN containers and secure loads with proper weight distribution.
• Complete door and dock checks and coordinate trailer shunting.
• Record pallet dimensions and shipment footage on BOL documentation.
• Print TruckMate labels, complete equipment inspections and maintain dock/trailer cleanliness.

• Valid forklift licence.
• Minimum two years operating Counterbalance forklifts in a warehouse/cross-dock environment.
• TruckMate/TMW and Microsoft Office experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Availability every Thursday and Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
