Project Director

Senior on-site project leadership opportunity in Alberta with a major construction organization delivering high-value utility infrastructure. The Project Director is accountable for complex scopes such as greenfield substations, high-voltage transmission corridors and major EPC developments involving multiple subcontractors, regulatory stakeholders and remote-site logistics. Frequent travel to active sites and regional offices is required.

Key responsibilities
• Lead projects from mobilization through commissioning and closeout.
• Direct multidisciplinary electrical, civil and structural field execution while protecting safety, quality, schedule and productivity.
• Resolve critical issues involving multiple work fronts, subcontractors, remote locations and high-risk activities.
• Own forecasts, cash flow, billing, cost control, margins and project risk.
• Lead contract negotiations, claims, change management and commercial discussions.
• Ensure QA/QC, permitting, environmental, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Represent the project with clients, Indigenous communities and organizations, regulators, partners and executive leadership.
• Align and mentor project managers and field leaders.

Qualifications
At least 10 years of progressive project leadership in utilities, infrastructure, industrial construction or similarly complex environments. Strong experience with major electrical-utility or EPC projects, contracts, claims, forecasting and commercial risk is preferred. Degree in engineering/construction management plus PMP, PgMP or equivalent certification, familiarity with SAP, Primavera P6 and Procore, and willingness to travel frequently are expected.
