Sr. Construction Manager

Senior on-site construction leadership role in Alberta with an infrastructure contractor delivering complex utility projects. The Senior Construction Manager leads field execution and is responsible for safe, high-quality and cost-effective delivery across construction managers, superintendents, general foremen, subcontractors and internal crews. Travel and active site leadership are core requirements.

Key responsibilities
• Lead full-scope field execution across multiple disciplines, crews and subcontractors.
• Convert project schedules into daily, weekly and look-ahead execution plans.
• Resolve constructability issues, field risks, resource constraints and operational roadblocks.
• Direct workforce planning, labour deployment, site logistics and crew utilization.
• Ensure tools, equipment, materials and engineering information are available to avoid interruptions.
• Lead safety, hazard mitigation, incident response and quality execution, including inspection/test plans and turnover documentation.
• Monitor productivity, earned value, progress and milestones and support recovery planning.
• Represent field operations in client meetings and coach field leaders.

Qualifications
Approximately 10 years of progressive utility, industrial or infrastructure construction experience; leadership of complex multidisciplinary scopes; strong craft-planning, subcontractor and logistics experience; familiarity with earned-value and performance reporting; and advanced use of systems such as Procore, SAP, Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. A relevant diploma/degree is preferred, along with a valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to active or remote sites.
