General Manager – Hotel and Conference Centre

Role context

Dietzel International is recruiting a Hotel General Manager for an approximately 250-room city hotel and conference centre in Northern Canada. The property includes two food-and-beverage outlets, banquet facilities and conference operations. The General Manager reports to the Vice President, Hotels.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations across the hotel and convention centre.
• Lead strategic planning, financial forecasting and annual operating plans.
• Drive guest satisfaction, employee engagement and service execution.
• Lead, motivate, mentor and develop managers and staff.
• Work closely with sales, marketing and event-planning teams.
• Develop service strategies and operational-delivery plans.
• Support revenue growth, financial controls and organizational performance.

• 4+ years as General Manager in a full-service four-star or similarly upscale hotel with F&B and banquet/convention operations.
• Business Administration or Hospitality Management degree preferred; advanced credentials are an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Rooms Division and hotel operations.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, organization and communication skills.
• Experience with financial control, planning and reporting in hospitality.
• Food & Beverage management experience is an asset.
• Working knowledge of property-management systems; Microsoft Office and Opera PMS proficiency are advantageous.
• Potential to progress to an Area General Manager role.
