Sr. DevOps Engineer

Role overview

A fintech/cryptocurrency client is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer for a permanent hybrid role in Etobicoke. The position owns cloud-infrastructure strategy, AWS multi-account architecture, CI/CD, security, observability and governance across production and regulated environments. It is highly hands-on while also carrying mentoring and technical-leadership responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Design AWS Organizations, VPCs, multi-region availability and IAM governance.
• Lead Terraform architecture, GitLab CI/CD, AMI pipelines and infrastructure automation.
• Operate Kubernetes/EKS or ECS, ECR and observability systems.
• Manage RDS, incident response, post-mortems and service-level objectives.
• Harden cloud/container environments and support PCI/regulated compliance.
• Implement FinOps, cost controls, operational documentation and infrastructure standards.

• 7–10 years in infrastructure/cloud engineering and 5+ years owning production AWS environments.
• Deep AWS, networking, IAM and security expertise.
• Advanced Terraform and CI/CD architecture.
• Kubernetes/EKS or ECS plus Python, Go or Bash scripting.
• Experience in PCI-compliant or regulated fintech/crypto environments.
• AWS Professional certifications, Datadog, FinOps, Cloudflare and Vault experience are assets.
