About the opportunity
The City of Powell River is recruiting a Director, Human Resources to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the full human-resources portfolio as a member of the senior leadership team.
Key responsibilities
• Lead labour relations, disability management, recruitment and retention.
• Oversee training, organizational development and succession management.
• Manage benefits, compensation, job evaluation, health and safety and HR policy.
• Advise departments on legislation, collective agreements and people practices.
• Help shape workforce planning, culture and organizational change.
Qualifications
What you bring
• Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience.
• Experience in a unionized municipal or public-sector environment.
• Strong labour-relations and change-management capability.
Additional information
Location: Powell River, British Columbia
Salary: CAD 152,200–174,600 per year
