Role description
The opportunity
Surrey Food Bank is recruiting its next Executive Director as the organization continues to grow its community impact across Surrey and North Delta.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director has overall responsibility for staff, volunteers, programs, partnerships and multiple distribution depots. The role combines long-term leadership with hands-on organizational management.
Key responsibilities
• Work with the Board on vision, strategy and annual priorities.
• Lead staff, volunteer management and a healthy, inclusive workplace culture.
• Oversee programs, day-to-day operations and special projects.
• Lead fundraising strategy and strengthen relationships with donors, funders, community organizations and government partners.
• Provide financial oversight, annual budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and regular reporting to the Board.
• Identify and manage organizational risks.
• Represent Surrey Food Bank publicly and build new collaborations that strengthen food-security impact.
Qualifications
Progressive senior leadership experience in the non-profit sector is sought, ideally in social-service delivery. The candidate should have experience working with a Board, developing and executing strategic plans, leading teams, building partnerships and growing revenue from individuals, corporations, foundations or governments. Strong business and financial acumen, risk-management capability, communication skills and an understanding of equity and inclusion are important. Food-security or poverty-reduction experience is an asset. A valid driver’s licence and regional travel are required.
Additional information
Surrey, British Columbia. Full-time. Salary range: $150,000–$175,000 plus benefits. Applications are due November 8, 2026. Regular presence in the office and community is expected, with some flexibility to work from home when appropriate.
