Cafe Manager

Opening leadership role for a new premium café launching in Canmore. The manager participates in pre-opening setup, recruits and develops the team and then takes responsibility for daily operations, profitability and guest experience. The position oversees service and food production, product quality, opening and closing procedures, cash handling, cleanliness and health-and-safety compliance. It also manages schedules, coaching and performance, labour and food costs, sales and KPI monitoring, inventory, ordering, budgeting and forecasting. The manager builds relationships with guests and the local community, supports marketing and local partnerships and represents the café publicly while maintaining a positive, accountable workplace culture.

Requires 3–5 years of management experience in a café, restaurant, bakery or hospitality environment with strong leadership, coaching and team-development ability. Candidates need experience managing labour, inventory and operating budgets, strong customer-service and conflict-resolution skills, excellent organization and time management, and comfort with POS systems and Microsoft Office. A valid Alberta Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain it is required. Bakery-café or specialty-coffee experience, high-volume hospitality background and First Aid certification are preferred. The role also requires flexibility for evenings and weekends and the physical capacity for extended standing and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Full-time on-site role in Canmore, Alberta. Target start is ideally by November 1, 2026 ahead of a December 2026 opening. Candidates must already be legally authorized to work in Canada; the employer does not provide LMIA or sponsorship support. No salary range was published.
