Forklift Operator- Counterbalance

Role overview

Staff Plus is recruiting a licensed Counterbalance Forklift Operator for a food-manufacturing client in Scarborough. The operator is responsible for safely moving product and materials through warehouse and production areas while supporting loading, unloading, storage and general warehouse flow. The job includes pre- and post-shift equipment inspections, trailer or container loading and unloading, stacking and storing merchandise and maintaining a clean, safe working area.

Operating environment

The employee may also assist with other warehouse duties as operating volume changes. The role requires consistent attention to safe equipment operation, product handling and site procedures in a food-manufacturing environment and includes flexible day and afternoon shift availability.

• Valid forklift licence.
• At least one year of Counterbalance forklift experience.
• Food-manufacturing experience is an asset.
• Ability to safely perform warehouse/distribution work and heavy lifting.
• Warehouse-management-system familiarity is an asset.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting is useful.
• Clear criminal background as stated by the posting.
