About the company
Our client is a diversified industrial corporation serving industries including construction, mining, public infrastructure and food and beverage processing. The company provides capital equipment as well as lifecycle maintenance, parts distribution and technical services.
One of its business units focuses on sourcing and reselling hard-to-find subsystems and parts. The company is investing in the growth of this business, including new revenue streams and digital tools.
Scope of the position
The Business Unit Head will lead the vision and growth of the used and allied parts business and hold full P&L responsibility.
Key responsibilities
• Work with senior management to develop the strategy and vision for the business.
• Develop the annual business plan and define financial and growth objectives.
• Coordinate departmental activities to support business and profitability goals.
• Establish performance metrics and support performance management.
• Drive execution of the business plan.
• Take a hands-on role in day-to-day operations with managers and team members.
• Develop strategic supplier and partner relationships.
• Build new channels to market.
• Use digital technologies and platforms to improve customer experience and support revenue growth.
• Work with the sales organization to manage the sales funnel, forecasts and monthly goals.
• Maintain appropriate forecasting tools and metrics.
• Ensure operations comply with safety and environmental requirements.
• Build strong relationships with other areas of the company.
• Travel as required to meet customers, suppliers, industry associations and corporate personnel.
Qualifications
Preferred experience and education
• 10–15 years of professional experience, preferably with international companies.
• Previous experience as a business leader, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Country Manager or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of the aftermarket segment in automotive, capital equipment, rail or aerospace.
• Track record of driving change or innovation.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership capability.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a structured way with limited supervision.
