Scope of the position

As part of a growth initiative, the company is seeking a Regional Hydropower Leader for Western Canada. The role combines business development, client engagement, team leadership, technical oversight and project financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the regional hydropower business and support growth of the practice in Western Canada.
• Develop business-development targets through client relationships and project pursuits.
• Grow the team as workload increases and collaborate with the broader Energy organization.
• Lead bid-development processes and contribute technical content to proposals.
• Set short- and long-term strategic direction.
• Build collaboration across disciplines and businesses involved in hydropower work.
• Coordinate with other managers on active projects and staffing.
• Provide quality assurance for projects, reports, bid submissions and deliverables.
• Review and approve budgets and plans supporting strategic goals.
• Maintain commercial viability and alignment with profitability objectives.
• Monitor industry, competitor and market trends.
• Represent the practice at conferences, speaking engagements and other industry events.

Preferred experience and education

• Proven executive leadership experience in a comparable role.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
• 10–15 years of experience in hydropower or related sectors.
• Experience leading and growing a team and function in a consulting environment.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
• Demonstrated business-development success.
• Strong relationship-building, collaboration and influencing skills.
• Strong communication, financial-management and people-management skills.
• Recognized technical or industry expertise related to power services.
• Ability to formulate and execute business strategy.
• Willingness to travel as required.
