Manufacturing Company – Chief Executive Officer – Southwestern Ontario

About the company

Our client is one of Canada’s larger manufacturers and service providers of industrial weighing scales. The company operates a 25,000 sq. ft. plant in Southwestern Ontario and sells across North America.

Scope of the position

The company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer with strong operational expertise and a commercial focus. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will oversee sales, business development and operations and will be responsible for helping the company meet production, installation and service targets safely and cost-effectively.

The company is entering a period of new investment and growth, and the CEO will lead an experienced team through the next phase of its development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for a large industrial manufacturing and service organization.
• Support operational efficiency, quality and alignment with long-term business goals.
• Lead sales strategy and customer relationship development.
• Build partnerships and expand market presence to support revenue growth.
• Oversee the technical design and innovation of industrial-scale systems.
• Lead financial planning, oversight and performance management.
• Support continuous improvement across the organization.
• Work with the plant manager to maintain product and service quality and improve plant throughput.
• Develop employees and create accountability across the team.

Preferred experience and education

• Minimum 5 years of C-level management experience in a manufacturing company.
• Experience increasing plant throughput.
• Experience with continuous-improvement methods such as 5S and Kaizen.
• Business development, sales and customer-service experience.
• Manufacturing knowledge involving welding systems.
• Engineering-related university degree is an asset.
• Experience leading operations-focused teams.
• Knowledge of management practices related to asset effectiveness, cycle-time reduction, workforce flexibility, training and recruitment.
• Strong commercial, communication, change-management and people-leadership skills.
