Production Worker/General Labourer

Role overview

GHRC is recruiting a production worker/general labourer to support daily manufacturing operations in Trenton. The environment may include metal fabrication, polyurethane foam injection, assembly and packaging. Previous manufacturing experience is not required because training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing and production activities.
• Operate production machinery and equipment according to training and safety procedures.
• Manufacture, assemble, inspect and clean products to company specifications.
• Package and secure finished products on skids or pallets.
• Count, organize and track raw materials and supplies.
• Move raw materials, components and finished goods using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts or manual handling.
• Load and unload materials, finished products and deliveries.
• Inspect products for defects, damage, cleanliness and quality.
• Verify accurate labelling, packaging and documentation.
• Keep production and storage areas clean, organized and safe.
• Follow work instructions, production procedures and quality standards.
• Use required PPE and follow health-and-safety policies.
• Report equipment issues, hazards, unsafe conditions and product defects.
• Work with supervisors and team members to achieve production targets and assist in different areas as needs change.

Compensation

Pay starts at CA$17.65 per hour.

• Basic written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to follow workplace instructions and safety procedures.
• Comfort working in metal-fabrication and polyurethane-foam environments.
• Ability to adapt to changing duties, priorities and schedules.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Willingness to learn equipment, processes and manufacturing procedures and participate in training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality and strong work ethic.
• Availability for different shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime when required.
