Weekend Banquet Server

Role overview

GHRC is recruiting part-time banquet servers in Prince Edward County to support weddings, private events, corporate functions and other special occasions. The role primarily involves evenings and weekends, with approximately 10–20 hours per week depending on the event schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Set up banquet halls and event spaces, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings and décor.
• Welcome guests and deliver professional customer service.
• Serve food and beverages during weddings, corporate events and private functions.
• Carry and clear plates, glasses, cutlery and serving trays safely.
• Assist with buffet setup, replenishment and breakdown.
• Monitor tables and remove used dishes and glassware promptly.
• Maintain clean and presentable dining and event areas.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff, bartenders, event coordinators and other team members.
• Respond to guest requests and escalate concerns when necessary.
• Assist with event setup, teardown and post-event cleanup.
• Follow food-safety, health-and-safety and workplace procedures.

Schedule and compensation

Part-time, primarily evenings and weekends, approximately 10–20 hours weekly depending on scheduled events. Pay is CA$21.65 per hour.

• Previous banquet, catering, restaurant, serving or hospitality experience is an asset.
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and move event equipment and supplies.
• Professional appearance and strong attention to detail.
• Flexible availability for evenings and weekends, with occasional holidays.
• Smart Serve certification is an asset where alcohol service is involved.
