Role description

The Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Family and Community Wellness Centre is seeking an Associate Executive Director to support organization-wide leadership across child and family services, public/community health and family-wellness programming. Reporting to and working alongside the Executive Director, the AED coordinates priorities, decisions, deadlines, approvals and reporting across programs, supports directors and helps maintain continuity when the Executive Director is unavailable. Responsibilities include coordinating corporate, program and community plans; preparing executive briefings and correspondence; helping leaders stay ahead of legislation, funding commitments and organizational risks; supporting complaints, incidents and administrative investigations; coaching directors and contributing to succession planning; and building relationships with NCN leadership, Citizens, Elders, funders, governments and partner organizations. The role combines senior organizational leadership with practical hands-on coordination and administrative follow-through.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate understands Indigenous organizations and community-service environments and brings experience coordinating complex work across health, child and family services, community wellness or related fields. Strong planning, organization, writing, discretion, judgment and relationship-building skills are essential. The role requires collaborative leadership grounded in cultural respect, accountability and community wellness. Education in social work, health, public administration or a related field is an asset, but equivalent experience and demonstrated commitment to community wellness are also considered.

Additional information
