Role description
About the opportunity
Kids with Cancer Society is seeking a Director of Philanthropy to shape and lead the organization’s fundraising strategy.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director joins the Senior Leadership Team and oversees a broad portfolio that includes major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundations and grants, annual and planned giving, signature events and community fundraising.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and implement a multi-year philanthropy strategy aligned with organizational and financial priorities.
• Establish fundraising goals, budgets, metrics and performance targets.
• Build and manage relationships with major donors, prospects, corporations, foundations and community leaders.
• Diversify and grow philanthropic revenue across multiple channels.
• Lead, mentor and develop philanthropy and development staff.
• Work with the Board, volunteers and senior leaders to strengthen donor engagement and organizational visibility.
Qualifications
Significant fundraising and development experience with demonstrated success securing major gifts and meeting or exceeding fundraising targets.
Experience developing comprehensive fundraising strategies and cultivating high-value donor relationships across corporations, foundations, major donors and community leaders.
Strong knowledge of donor stewardship and ethical philanthropic practices, along with CRM and digital-fundraising proficiency. Knowledge of Edmonton’s philanthropic and business community is a strong asset. CFRE designation or a commitment to professional development in fundraising is considered an asset.
