Field Heavy Duty Mechanic

Position overview

Field-based heavy-duty mechanic role with an established Western Canadian company serving customers in Canada and the U.S. The technician works from the Red Deer area, travels to service calls in a company truck and supports specialized heavy equipment used across pulp and paper, oil and gas, rail, transportation and manufacturing.

Role details

• Diagnose, maintain and repair heavy equipment in the field.
• Work independently from a company-provided service vehicle.
• Manage customer interactions professionally and organize field activity like an owner/operator.
• Overtime is available; living-out allowance applies to overnight work.

Compensation

$45–$50/hour depending on experience, plus pension, profit sharing, benefits and company service truck.

• 5+ years mechanic experience.
• Journeyman or Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician.
• Driveline and engine experience strongly beneficial.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; electrical knowledge valued.
• Strong troubleshooting/problem-solving and customer-service skills.
• Clear spoken and written English.

Field role based in Red Deer with service travel.
