Role description
Fly-in/fly-out Driller opportunity supporting the Mine Operations team at an open-pit mining operation. The contract works on a 14-days-on / 14-days-off rotation with 12-hour day and night shifts. Pay is publicly listed at $46–$48 per hour plus overtime after eight hours, bringing the effective rate for a 12-hour day to roughly $53.66–$56 per hour.
Role focus
• Operate drilling equipment safely and in accordance with mine procedures, operating standards and health-and-safety requirements.
• Complete routine equipment checks and identify issues requiring maintenance attention.
• Support a strong “Zero Harm” culture through safe equipment operation, communication and adherence to procedures.
• Work effectively within a rotational open-pit production environment and coordinate with the broader Mine Operations team.
Profile
Previous experience on the required drill fleet is mandatory. The public posting identifies D56, Pit Viper, DK75, DR650, DR580 and 5560 drill models. Candidates need practical drill-operation experience, strong safety discipline and the ability to work 12-hour day/night shifts on a FIFO schedule.
