Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Role overview

An early-stage Toronto product team is building interactive digital-character experiences that combine animation, real-time systems and AI. The Senior Full-Stack Engineer works directly with the founder and creative team, turning early concepts into production features while making foundational architecture choices across frontend, backend services and real-time interaction systems.

Responsibilities

• Build product features end-to-end from prototype through production.
• Develop modern React/Next.js frontends, APIs and Node-based services.
• Create systems for animation triggers, voice and real-time character behaviour.
• Evaluate animation, AI media and voice technologies and make build-versus-integrate decisions.
• Work with animators and creative stakeholders to integrate assets.
• Maintain performance, observability and production readiness as the platform evolves.

• 5+ years of professional software-engineering experience.
• Strong TypeScript/React and Node/full-stack capability.
• Experience shipping interactive or real-time systems.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and make clear architecture trade-offs.
• Experience with external APIs and owning work from concept to production.
• Animation systems, AI media, voice or event-driven/streaming experience are assets.
