Chief Financial Officer

About the opportunity

LHH Knightsbridge is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer for the Alzheimer Society of BC and Yukon and its parallel foundation. Based in Vancouver, the CFO reports to the CEO and leads the organization’s finance function while helping shape long-term financial strategy and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting and multi-year scenario analysis.
• Modernize finance systems and processes, including digital transformation, automation and scalable financial technologies.
• Strengthen internal controls and organization-wide financial risk management.
• Develop and oversee investment strategies aligned with organizational policies and risk tolerance.
• Oversee annual budgeting, cash flow, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
• Lead preparation for the annual external audit and support strong financial governance.
• Partner with the CEO, Finance and Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
• Support grant budgeting, restricted-fund tracking, funder reporting and cost allocation.
• Work with People and Culture on compensation planning, workforce-cost modelling, payroll compliance and benefits administration.
• Lead and develop a small finance team and strengthen succession, professional development and departmental capacity.

The role is hybrid from the Vancouver Provincial Office and supports an organization with a budget of more than $20 million.

• Minimum 8+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally in a charitable or mission-driven organization.
• Relevant degree and professional accounting designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Finance leadership experience in organizations of comparable scale, including team leadership.
• Hands-on experience implementing financial systems, automation, dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Strong expertise in financial planning, risk management, investments and finance-function modernization.
• Experience strengthening internal controls and leading change or digital transformation.
• Ability to partner effectively with executives and Boards.
