Head of Total Rewards & Talent Intelligence

About the opportunity

LHH is recruiting a Head of Total Rewards & Talent Intelligence for Securian Canada in Toronto. Reporting to the Chief Human Experience Officer, the role leads the organization’s total rewards and people-analytics strategy and serves as a senior advisor on compensation, workforce insights and talent decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of the organization’s total rewards strategy, including base pay, incentives and variable compensation programs.
• Develop and maintain a consistent compensation philosophy and evaluate market competitiveness.
• Lead executive compensation design, modelling and governance and prepare compensation analysis for Board and Committee reporting.
• Lead People Analytics and develop insights on workforce trends, capability gaps, performance, engagement and retention.
• Advise senior leadership on compensation, workforce planning and organizational design.
• Support M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration from a total rewards and people-analytics perspective.
• Improve compensation processes, reporting, controls and automation.
• Lead and develop a small team across Total Rewards and People Analytics.

The position is hybrid in Toronto and combines strategic leadership with hands-on framework and capability building.

• Deep expertise in total rewards, including compensation design and executive compensation.
• Experience in growth, transformation or evolving organizational environments.
• Strong people and talent analytics capability.
• Exposure to M&A, integration or large-scale organizational change.
• Experience preparing analysis and materials for senior executives and Boards.
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
• Strong commercial judgment, financial discipline, integrity and stakeholder-management skills.
