Role description
Opportunity
An established general contractor operating across Alberta is hiring an experienced Estimator for a permanent full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Solicit and level subcontractor and supplier quotations and prepare complete estimates, takeoffs and unit pricing.
- Maintain supplier relationships and prepare proposals for management approval before client submission.
- Work with engineers, architects and owners on estimate changes and cost adjustments.
- Develop risk-mitigation plans, participate in project/client meetings and maintain pricing/productivity data.
- Mentor junior estimating staff and maintain estimating software.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary certificate or degree in engineering or a construction-related discipline.
- 5+ years of estimating experience in general construction.
- Strong estimating-software knowledge; InEight is an asset.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Bluebeam, OST and Microsoft Scheduler.
- Strong quantity-takeoff and tendering knowledge; Lean construction experience.
- Project Coordinator or Project Manager experience is an asset.
