Role description

Research-and-infrastructure engineering position at an established Montréal fintech. The role turns hypotheses and rapid analysis into production systems, with a strong focus on real-time data, LLM-enabled tooling and infrastructure performance.

Responsibilities

  • Expand event-driven systems across exchange feeds, news, social data and infrastructure telemetry.
  • Use Python/Jupyter for rapid signal analysis and convert findings into production improvements.
  • Build agentic LLM workflows with tools, context management, evaluations and guardrails.
  • Own performance from network edge through in-memory systems, including monitoring and production debugging.
  • Lead green-field builds, design reviews and post-mortems.

Qualifications

Profile

  • 3–5 years building real-time or data-intensive systems.
  • Deep practical knowledge of LLM behavior and production scaffolding.
  • Strong Python, Go, Rust or comparable systems-engineering background.
  • Knowledge of TCP/UDP/IP, DNS, BGP, HTTP(S), WebSocket and QUIC.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, data science, mathematics or related field.

Additional information

Hybrid in Old Montréal. Salary advertised up to C$140,000 plus perks.
