Role description

Senior backend-focused role with a remote-first software company translating emerging AI capabilities into production products. The engineer contributes across the stack while owning scalable backend services, APIs and product features.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement reliable, scalable backend systems.
  • Collaborate on complex product features and integrations.
  • Improve performance, developer experience and system architecture.
  • Support large-scale data ingestion and unified data-access capabilities.
  • Maintain production systems as the company scales.

Qualifications

Profile

  • Several years building production-grade software.
  • Modern backend/web-development experience; TypeScript/Node is useful but not mandatory.
  • Experience with asynchronous processing, message queues and document databases.
  • Strong data-modeling and pipeline fundamentals.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ownership mindset and comfort with fast-moving ambiguity.

Additional information

Remote within Canada. Compensation advertised up to C$200,000 plus equity and comprehensive benefits, with optional office hubs and periodic team gatherings.
