Role overview

An industrial operation in Prince George is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor with midstream or refinery experience. This site-focused contract position supports regular operations, maintenance, shutdowns, turnarounds and outages and requires a safety professional who can work directly with operations, construction teams, contractors and site leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide field-level health and safety support and promote compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct inspections, hazard assessments, observations and safety audits.
• Participate in job planning, toolbox meetings, pre-job discussions and contractor orientations.
• Review permits, FLHAs, JSAs and supporting safety documentation.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor compliance, coach site personnel and track safety indicators.
• Support emergency-response planning and continuous improvement of safety programs.

• At least five years of progressive health and safety experience.
• Direct midstream or refinery experience and exposure to shutdowns, turnarounds or outages.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safe-work practices, hazard identification, permitting and contractor safety.
• Experience with inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Strong communication, coaching, documentation and conflict-resolution skills.
• Must be local to Prince George or surrounding area. CRSP is preferred; NCSO is also considered.
