Workday Payroll, Time & Absence Functional Lead

Role overview

A Canadian energy-sector client is seeking a Workday Payroll, Time & Absence Functional Lead for a one-year remote contract with potential extension. The lead owns the Workday Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence workstream within a multi-year ERP harmonization initiative and coordinates functional design and testing where Workday integrates with Oracle Fusion.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements-gathering and process-design workshops and assess existing Workday configurations.
• Identify configuration gaps and integration impacts associated with Oracle Fusion.
• Document requirements, design decisions, risks and dependencies.
• Lead system-integration, payroll-parallel and user-acceptance testing and payroll validation.
• Coordinate defect triage, reporting, security, data-migration and change-management activities.
• Support cutover, payroll readiness, hypercare, stabilization and knowledge transfer.

• Eight or more years of Workday functional experience.
• Advanced expertise in Workday Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence.
• Experience with large ERP, transformation or system-harmonization programs.
• Strong knowledge of payroll, time management, absence administration and complex integrations.
• Strong facilitation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Canadian payroll, unionized environments, employee migrations and Oracle Fusion exposure are preferred.
