Role description
About the opportunity
The Lighthouse for Grieving Children & Families in Oakville is recruiting an Executive Director to lead the organization through the next stage of its growth-oriented strategic plan.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides organizational leadership and clear direction while protecting the quality of grief- and trauma-informed supports for children, youth and families.
Key responsibilities
• Lead strategic planning, programming, operations and organizational performance.
• Lead and develop a small established staff team and a strong volunteer network.
• Provide financial oversight, lead budget development and oversee fundraising and donor engagement.
• Build relationships with families, donors, funders, community partners and the broader non-profit sector.
• Represent The Lighthouse externally through events, advocacy and community engagement.
• Champion diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility throughout the organization.
Qualifications
Progressive leadership experience in the non-profit and social-service sector is sought. The role requires strong people leadership, strategic and program-development experience, comfort working with a volunteer Board, financial literacy and budget-management capability, and an ability to build lasting donor and community relationships. Experience in grief services, children and youth services or trauma-informed care is an asset, as is an established network in Halton Region.
