Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Officer

About the opportunity

Ontario Health is recruiting a Chief Communications and Corporate Affairs Officer to join the Senior Leadership Team and report to the President and CEO.

The role leads enterprise communications, corporate and public affairs, and stakeholder, patient and family engagement. It sits at the intersection of government relations, health-system transformation and enterprise leadership.

Key priorities

• Advise the President and CEO, Board Chair and senior leaders on communications and corporate affairs.
• Maintain trusted relationships with Ministers’ offices, Ministry leadership and senior government decision-makers.
• Lead internal and external communications, media and issues management, digital communications, brand and reputation.
• Strengthen Ontario Health’s strategic positioning and communicate its priorities, progress and impact.
• Anticipate emerging issues and help keep the organization aligned with government and health-system priorities.

Significant senior-executive leadership in communications, corporate affairs or public affairs within government, the broader public sector, healthcare or another complex and highly visible environment.

Experience working with elected officials and their teams, senior public servants, Boards, CEOs and executive teams.

Strong judgment and discretion, the ability to anticipate issues and navigate complex government environments, and a demonstrated capacity to build trust with senior decision-makers and diverse stakeholders.
