Principal ML Engineer

hireVouch is recruiting a Principal Machine Learning Engineer for a remote Canadian mandate at a company operating very high-volume globally distributed systems. The Principal Engineer helps define end-to-end ML architecture from raw data and feature generation through model delivery, deployment, serving and production monitoring. Responsibilities include designing large-scale data-centric pipelines, establishing reliable model-delivery patterns, improving deployment and hosting approaches, optimizing ML-system performance, defining technical and process designs, applying production-grade software-engineering practices and providing architectural direction across data science, machine learning and software engineering teams.

• Master’s or PhD in a STEM field, or equivalent depth of experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, ML Architect or related professional.
• Experience moving ML beyond experimentation into reliable production operation.
• Extensive knowledge of MLOps infrastructure and pipelines.
• Experience across multiple modelling approaches such as classification, regression, recommendation, targeting or ranking.
• Deep knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics and algorithms.
• Strong understanding of model-supporting systems: data preparation, feature generation, delivery, deployment and monitoring.
• Principal-level architectural judgment, technical influence and cross-functional business acumen.
