About the opportunity

HR Craft is recruiting a commercial swing driver in Toronto. The position operates several vehicle types used to collect solid waste, yard waste and recyclables on assigned routes and includes vehicle inspections, route documentation and customer-facing responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate front-end, roll-off, residential and other assigned vehicles.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Maintain daily truck reports, route sheets and service records.
• Report mechanical issues, accidents or incidents promptly.
• Follow applicable safety rules, regulations and company procedures.
• Keep the vehicle clean and use required protective equipment.
• Perform regular and special pickups as assigned.
• Document route observations and communicate with supervisors.

A valid commercial driver’s licence, DZ or higher, is required. The source lists either at least one year of commercial-driving experience or a commercial driving-school certificate as an asset. Candidates must be able to operate the vehicle and equipment safely, work outdoors in varying weather, communicate effectively, read associated documents and maps, and meet substantial physical demands that can include lifting or moving heavy loads.

Full-time. Toronto, Ontario. The work is primarily driving and field-based and may involve noise, weather exposure, traffic, moving equipment and other outdoor operating conditions.
