Procurement Specialist

About the opportunity

MatchBox is recruiting a Procurement Specialist for a North American building-materials manufacturer in the Greater Toronto Area.

The role coordinates procurement for ready-mix concrete and aggregates operations, supports a regional spend portfolio of roughly $200 million and works directly with plant leaders, category managers, suppliers and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Responsibilities include executing sourcing strategies, identifying cost and supply efficiencies, analyzing procurement data, supporting negotiations, coordinating RFx processes and supplier evaluations, preparing agreements using approved templates and tracking supplier performance, savings, contract compliance and procurement KPIs.
• The position combines operational buying with growing strategic-procurement responsibility.

Qualifications

• Candidates need a university degree in business, supply-chain management or a related discipline and roughly four to five years of procurement experience, including strategic sourcing and supplier management.
• Direct experience in cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete or a closely related building-materials environment is required by the posting.
• Strong Excel and Power BI capability, data analysis, negotiation, supplier-relationship management and the ability to work independently across multiple sites are important.
• A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel legally to the United States are required.
• SAP, electronic sourcing platforms, CAPEX procurement and category-management experience are useful assets.

Position details

• Permanent full-time role in Mississauga, Ontario.
• Hybrid schedule: two days in the Mississauga office, two days visiting operational sites and one day from home.
• Public listing range: CAD 71,250–90,000.
