Bridge Engineer

About the opportunity

MatchBox is recruiting a Bridge Engineer for a Canadian consulting-engineering firm with a transportation-structures practice in Alberta.

The engineer will contribute to bridge projects across the province, including structural analysis, design, evaluation, technical reporting, proposals, contract documentation and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• The role works in multidisciplinary teams and supports budgets, quality requirements, internal reporting and client-facing deliverables.
• The position is intended for an engineer who wants to combine technical bridge work with project coordination and progressively broader client responsibility.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a civil or structural engineering background with bridge or transportation-structures experience and a strong understanding of structural analysis, design, technical documentation and project delivery.
• Professional-engineering registration in Alberta, or the ability to obtain it, is relevant to the role.
• The work requires clear technical writing, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, attention to budgets and quality, and the ability to communicate with clients.
• Experience with bridge assessment, rehabilitation or replacement work is particularly useful.

Position details

• Permanent opportunity based in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.
• Hybrid model: the successful candidate is expected in office five days per week for the first three months, then two days per week.
• Public listing range: CAD 104,500–132,000.
