Financial Risk Analyst – Expert

About the opportunity

IFG is recruiting an experienced risk analyst for a short-term Toronto contract within a major Canadian financial institution.

The role supports a regulatory governance and control-enhancement initiative, with emphasis on mapping regulatory requirements to controls, advising business risk teams, testing control effectiveness and performing quality assurance over external-audit testing.

Key responsibilities

• The analyst works with risk-management lines of business, internal partners and external audit stakeholders to improve documentation, evidence and control design in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have senior experience in operational, regulatory or enterprise risk, internal controls, compliance or audit.
• Strong control-design and control-testing knowledge, the ability to evaluate evidence and identify gaps, and experience working with regulatory requirements are important.
• Financial-services experience is highly relevant.
• The role requires strong documentation, analytical judgment and the ability to work constructively with business owners, risk teams and external auditors under a compressed delivery schedule.

Position details

• Toronto contract running approximately through October 31, 2026, with possible extension or conversion.
• Hybrid attendance is required.
• Public pay rate: CAD 80 per hour.
