Financial Analyst – Controllership

About the opportunity

IFG is recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst for a six-month contract in the controllership function of a large financial institution.

The role focuses on financial-reporting integrity, loan-accounting reviews and investigation of complex accounting or control issues.

Key responsibilities

• Responsibilities include analysing financial results and variances, supporting reconciliations and month-end close, reviewing loan contracts for accounting treatment and contributing to process improvements.
• The analyst works independently with large data sets and helps protect the accuracy of the control environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have at least four years of financial-services experience, advanced Excel capability and strong experience investigating accounting issues and controls.
• The role requires attention to detail, comfort working independently and the ability to manage large data sets.
• Experience with loan-loss provisions, insurance accounting, PeopleSoft, SAP or Oracle is useful.
• A CPA or equivalent designation and strong IFRS / financial-reporting knowledge are preferred but not mandatory.

Position details

• Six-month Toronto contract with high potential for extension.
• Hybrid schedule of approximately two to three office days per week.
• Public pay rate: CAD 45 per hour.
