Analog IC Layout Engineer – New Graduate

Role overview

TalentLab is supporting a global semiconductor company hiring an early-career Analog IC Layout Engineer in Markham. The 12-month contract gives a recent Electrical or Computer Engineering graduate direct exposure to production analog and mixed-signal integrated-circuit design, working with experienced IC designers and layout engineers on advanced semiconductor technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify analog and mixed-signal IC layouts under senior guidance.
• Translate circuit schematics into physical layouts considering matching, parasitics, reliability and manufacturability.
• Perform DRC and LVS physical-verification work.
• Collaborate with IC designers to optimize placement, routing and circuit requirements.
• Support design reviews, debugging, verification and layout iterations.
• Build experience with advanced semiconductor processes and industry-standard design tools.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Microelectronics or a related field.
• Academic or practical exposure to analog layout, VLSI, CMOS or semiconductor design.
• Understanding of matching, symmetry, parasitic effects, routing and design rules.
• Exposure to Cadence Virtuoso or similar tools preferred.
• Understanding of DRC/LVS; co-op, PEY, internship or research experience is highly valued.
