Technical Recruiter

Role overview

TalentLab is expanding its own Ottawa recruiting team and is hiring a junior Technical Recruiter. The role is designed for someone early in a people-facing career who wants to learn full-cycle technical recruiting, from sourcing and initial outreach through candidate screening, pipeline management, interview coordination and ongoing candidate communication.

Responsibilities

• Source technical candidates using LinkedIn, job boards, databases, referrals and other channels.
• Build and maintain networks of technical professionals.
• Conduct initial candidate screens and assess skills, experience and career goals.
• Work with recruiters and hiring managers to understand client requirements.
• Maintain candidate pipelines and coordinate interviews.
• Research companies, technologies, industries and talent markets.
• Contribute to sourcing strategy and recruiting campaigns.

• 1–2 years in recruitment, sales, customer service, business development or another people-focused environment is an asset.
• Strong interest in technical recruitment and talent acquisition.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and comfort speaking with new people.
• Curiosity, organization, persistence and attention to detail.
• Comfort learning technology, recruiting tools and technical role profiles.
