Senior Architectural Millwork Detailer/Drafter

About the opportunity

The Staffing Exchange is recruiting a Senior Architectural Millwork Detailer / Drafter for a custom millwork company in Mississauga. This is a specialized AutoCAD role focused on fabrication-ready shop drawings for commercial interiors rather than general architectural or mechanical drafting.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed AutoCAD shop drawings for custom architectural millwork.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, construction details and assembly drawings.
• Detail reception desks, retail fixtures, cabinetry, wall panels, counters, display units and other custom assemblies.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, field dimensions, finishes, hardware and materials.
• Coordinate revisions with project managers, designers, production teams and installers.
• Identify constructability issues before release to production.
• Produce fabrication documentation, material takeoffs, cut lists and bills of materials when required.
• Support design-assist work and 3D or isometric details where useful.
• Maintain drawing accuracy, revision control and quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, store-fixture or commercial-interior detailing experience.
• Advanced AutoCAD 2D skills and ability to produce fabrication-ready drawing packages.
• Strong knowledge of millwork construction, joinery, hardware, veneers, laminates, wood, metal, glass and finishing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings, specifications and site dimensions.
• Practical understanding of fabrication and installation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple drawing packages and revisions.
• Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, Mozaik, SolidWorks, CNC, BOM/cut-list experience and AWMAC/AWI knowledge are assets.

Position details

• Full-time, on-site in Mississauga, Ontario.
• Published salary: CAD 70,000–85,000.
