Quoting, estimating and job costing

  • Use practical manufacturing experience and historical jobs to build reliable estimates.
  • Compare previous builds and actual production needs to improve estimating accuracy.
  • Identify cost risks and unusual manufacturing requirements that could affect profitability.

Purchasing and material coordination

  • Oversee purchasing needs for materials, components, tooling and outside services.
  • Coordinate with the Office Assistant on supplier pricing and lead times.
  • Align purchasing requirements with production schedules and deadlines.
  • Follow up on critical materials and supplier commitments.

Project and customer coordination

  • Work with Project Managers on build schedules, milestones and customer delivery commitments.
  • Communicate manufacturing progress, scheduling concerns and technical issues affecting timelines.
  • Help resolve build challenges and support timely responses to customer requirements.

Leadership and team development

  • Lead and support a manufacturing workforce of roughly 16–20 employees across machining and assembly.
  • Oversee hiring for shop-floor roles and contribute to workforce planning.
  • Set clear expectations for performance, productivity, workmanship, accountability and conduct.
  • Address performance issues and make difficult operational decisions when required.
  • Maintain a collaborative, respectful and safety-conscious work environment.
