MRO Buyer

Direct-hire MRO procurement role supporting maintenance and plant operations at a large Windsor manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase MRO supplies, spare parts, maintenance materials, equipment and external services.
• Compare supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and terms and identify savings opportunities.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders within company procedures and approvals.
• Expedite critical and backordered items to reduce downtime and production disruption.
• Identify alternate suppliers and suitable replacement components.
• Monitor supplier pricing, quality, delivery and responsiveness.
• Maintain appropriate stock of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Set and maintain reorder points and min/max inventory levels with maintenance personnel.
• Review usage and purchasing history to improve inventory planning and reduce excess or obsolete stock.
• Identify critical components and future spare-part needs with the maintenance team.
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock reviews and system updates.
• Work with Maintenance, Engineering, Production and Plant Management on priorities.
• Ensure parts and consumables are available for preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate external repairs, equipment servicing and other maintenance requirements.
• Respond to urgent purchasing requests and communicate order status and supply risks.
• Maintain purchasing, inventory and supplier records in the ERP/MRP system.
• Track purchase orders, delivery schedules and supplier commitments.
• Resolve discrepancies among purchase orders, receipts and supplier invoices.
• Follow internal policies, budget requirements and applicable safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary training in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Previous MRO, industrial or manufacturing procurement experience.
• Experience purchasing maintenance supplies, mechanical/electrical components and industrial spare parts.
• Manufacturing or industrial exposure; plastics injection moulding or automotive manufacturing is an asset.
• Strong supplier sourcing, quotation analysis, negotiation and vendor-management skills.
• Working knowledge of inventory control, replenishment planning and purchase-order management.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication, problem-solving and cross-department collaboration.

• Location: Windsor, Ontario.
• Direct hire; steady day schedule, Monday to Friday.
• Salary: $50,000–$60,000 per year.
