Director of Operations – Food Manufacturing

Executive-level manufacturing operations role with overall responsibility for production, processing, warehousing and related operational functions at an established Edmonton food manufacturer entering a major expansion phase. The Director reports to the President & CEO and is expected to strengthen frontline leadership, operating discipline, food safety, quality, employee safety, capacity, productivity and continuous improvement while preparing the organization for a substantially larger manufacturing facility targeted for commissioning in 2027. The mandate includes production and warehouse leadership, KPI development, capacity planning, Lean/continuous-improvement execution, labour and yield improvement, CAPEX and automation planning, facility optimization, supply-chain collaboration, operating budgets and the operational readiness required for the new plant.

The employer seeks progressive senior leadership experience in food manufacturing, food processing, bakery, CPG or another sophisticated manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, sanitation, safety and regulatory compliance is expected; exposure to BRCGS, SQF, HACCP, GMP or CFIA environments is valued. Candidates should demonstrate leadership-team development, production-capacity and productivity improvement, Lean/continuous-improvement results, SOP/KPI/accountability systems, CAPEX/automation/equipment commissioning or facility expansion, manufacturing economics and cross-functional collaboration across production, warehousing, supply chain, maintenance, engineering and quality.
