Estimator

Full-time commercial-construction Estimator role with Acadian Construction in Moncton, New Brunswick. Reporting to estimating leadership, the Estimator prepares accurate and competitive bids and supports the full tender process for commercial projects.

Key responsibilities
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents to establish scope and requirements.
• Complete quantity takeoffs and develop labour, material, equipment and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identify project risks, exclusions and cost considerations that can affect bids or schedules.
• Assist with preliminary schedules, execution plans and resource requirements.
• Support proposal development and bid submissions.
• Maintain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor labour and material pricing and maintain organized estimating documentation.
• Contribute to improvements in estimating tools, processes and practices.

Profile
Education in Engineering Technology, Engineering or a related discipline is expected, together with commercial-construction estimating experience. Candidates should be comfortable reading drawings and specifications and using estimating software. Microsoft Project, On-Screen Takeoff, Revit/BIM experience and Gold Seal estimating certification are considered assets.

Commercial construction estimating experience is required. Strong takeoff, tendering, pricing and document-review skills are important; Gold Seal certification is considered an asset.
