Senior Project Manager

Full-time permanent Senior Project Manager opportunity with Acadian Construction in Halifax. Reporting to the Director of Construction, the position leads complex commercial-construction projects from planning and preconstruction through completion and closeout and owns project delivery, financial performance, risk, client relationships and project-team leadership.

Key responsibilities
• Lead commercial projects from planning through completion and closeout.
• Manage budgets, schedules, forecasts, costs and overall financial performance.
• Identify and address risks, issues and potential delays.
• Oversee contracts, procurement, change orders, billing and project documentation.
• Lead and support Site Supervisors, Project Coordinators and other team members.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication among all parties.
• Ensure safety, quality, contractual and company requirements are met.
• Mentor less-experienced project-management staff.

Profile
Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience, and at least seven years of progressive construction project-management experience. General-contractor and end-to-end commercial-project experience are important, along with strong knowledge of budgets, schedules, costs, forecasts, change orders, contracts and construction drawings. Strong leadership and project-software skills are expected.

At least seven years of commercial construction project-management experience is requested, with strong financial, risk, contract and team-management capabilities.
