Quality Control Specialist

Quality Control Specialist opportunity with Ben Hokum & Son Limited in Golden Lake, Ontario, a family-operated sawmill producing red and white pine lumber. The specialist supports consistent product quality through lumber grading, quality checks and practical quality-assurance work in a production environment. The employer is open to full-time or part-time arrangements.

Key responsibilities
• Grade lumber accurately against applicable product and customer standards.
• Inspect finished or in-process lumber and identify quality issues or grading inconsistencies.
• Help maintain documentation and records needed to support quality control.
• Communicate quality concerns with production personnel and support corrective action.
• Contribute to consistent product standards and continuous improvement in the mill.
• Work safely around active sawmill and manufacturing equipment.

Profile
At least five years of lumber-grading experience is requested, and white-pine grading experience is mandatory. The position requires strong visual attention to detail, sound grading judgment, consistency, comfort working in a manufacturing setting and the ability to communicate quality issues clearly to operations personnel.
