Associate Lawyer (Construction Litigation)

Match and Fable is recruiting a Construction Litigation Associate for a top-tier full-service law firm in Kitchener. The lawyer works closely with an experienced partner and litigation team on large, complex construction disputes and significant client matters. Responsibilities include taking ownership of substantive portions of files, developing litigation strategy, drafting pleadings, motion materials and written submissions, participating in discoveries, motions, settlement discussions and trial preparation, managing client relationships and balancing multiple active matters and deadlines.

• 2–6 years of construction-litigation experience.
• Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Specific construction-litigation experience; general commercial litigation alone is not sufficient.
• Ability to become productive quickly in an established busy practice.
• Experience with large, complex files for significant clients.
• Strong drafting, analytical, communication and client-management skills.
• Ability to work three days per week from the Kitchener office.
